inconsistent hesistation

Over the summer I had 3 occasions where my 07 Screw 5.4L would hesitate on acceleration from a stop. It would only last for about 1/8th of a mile, then would go away. I work at a Ford dealer, they couldn't duplicate the problem, neither could I, and it hasn't happened for about 5 months until this morning. Obviously it was warmer during the summer, and humid when it had happened. Today it was 20 degrees. Same symptoms, wouldn't do it again. What should I look for?

you wouldnt happen to have a vibration issue at a stop when you let off the brake and roll a few feet, did you?

Could you provide a little more info on what you mean by hesitation? Do you mean when you press the gas it does not go, or do you mean you are accelerating slower than normal, etc....? These trucks have a throttle positioning sensor vs manual linkage/cable, maybe it is faulty? Change fuel filter out?

When it happens, it's accelerating slower, almost sputtering, only for about 1/4 mile, then it goes away and all is fine. Had it into dealer, but of course, they can't reproduce it, neither can I, and it's not throwing any codes.

how many miles are on the truck? Have you ever replaced the fuel filter ? I would look into that first cause its a simple DIY.

I have 33k on it, haven't checked the fuel filter, but it's something I'll check. I just can't duplicate the problem, it happens so infrequently, so it's really hard to diagnose. Thanks!

Try that and see what happens it will prob cost yah like 20 bucks for the fuel filter/Fuel filter dis connect tool. Go to your local auto zone and you can pick them up there .... they should be changed about every 15k for future reference. Also there is a write up in the how to section
