heater not working??
alright well...coming back from athens the other day my heater was working.....and then the next day i got in my truck to go to school to grab some stuff, and my heat wasnt working, and its still not working
now i have a OLD battery and its basically dead, and im replacing it tomorrow. Could this be related....like could the almost depleted battery cause voltage spikes that blew the fuse that controls my heater?

Sounds like a bad thermostat to me if the blower is working. Battery wouldn't have anything to do with it. Don't worry it's a very very cheap part and easy to replace. It's located inline with the radiator hose on top of the engine.
I would agree with Impact9's post about the T-stat.
Just had a 2005 3 weeks ago with the same issue, I went the zebra route, when it really was horses.
Check the engine temp gauge on the dash to see if it is pointing straight up, in the center of the range. Next check the engine temp after it has been running for a bit.
The 2005 I saw only had an engine temperature of 121* F, not in the ~ 200* F temp normal operating range.
I went on looking up the TSBs on the blend door, and another guy did the diagnoses 101 route with the laser temp probe.

Here you go Pat:
Run to the autoparts store and get a thermostat and some antifreeze. The thermostat should come with the gaskets. Then let the engine cool down for the pressure to bleed down.
1. Partially drain the engine cooling system.
2. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
3. Remove the parts in the order indicated in the illustrations and tables.

Heating systems are really simple. The engine heats up and the water pump pushes the water through out the engine absorbing the heat. Then it goes into the heater core and radiator to dump the heat. There's a fan the pushed the air across the heater core that gets pushed into the cab. There is a chance the heater core could be clogged but most likely the thermostat is stuck wide open letting the water cool too much to build up any heat. Generally you can just reverse flush the system to clear it but it may need replacing. Right now though the thermostat will be around $15 if that.

its been cold down here past few days! haha
no joke i was driving from my school (Kennesaw) up to Athens to party with my friends, and its a hour and 45 drive, and it was 24 degrees outside, and not much warmer inside, i was drinking a bottle of water and it was almost empty, probably one quarter of the bottle left and when i got to athens half of the water in my bottle was frozen haha

watch which way you put the thermostat in. ive done a bunch and never tried to do it the wrong way and didnt even think you can. but i got a call from someone telling me that a friend of theirs put it in backwards and ran and ran and ran the engine till it all started smelling funny and making noises and then quit. they opened the hood and there was green stuff coming out from what most people know as heads
