Hey guys...question for ya.
Recently when i start up my truck it idles at 1800 or so which seems really high. I usually put it in reverse to get the idle down to normal 800. What is causing this? is this normal? dont remembe this happening in the past.

Also throwing this code occasionaly but i just clear it with the edge....should i have it checked out?

My 05' does the same for about 20 seconds, then comes back down. I believe it's normal at start up.

 

That looks like your throttle body going bad.

As that Wrench light will indicate the P2106 code... is it lit?

But first, try cleaning it out with some carb cleaner or something before ditching some serious money in a throttle body.

When I start my 05 it goes up to like 1600 for around 10 sec then comes down. I think its normal for these trucks to idle that high on startup. I let it get down to about 8-900 before putting it in Drive and that usually takes 30 seconds or so

 

Devin what mods do you have on your engine?
