Ability to view digital trans/coolant temp on an 07
Ability to view digital trans/coolant temp on an 07
You might be able to see the actual temperture via the 'engineer' mode. This is for an Expedition, but may work on the F150.
So a post on ford-trucks.com claiming you can look at the message center and find some cool info by doing the process below. The guy said he had an 08 Expo and 05 F-150 Lariat that it worked on. I tried it on my 07 Lariat and could not get it to work. Anybody else done or heard of this??
Engineering Test Mode:
Ignition in "OFF" position.
Cluster type.
For Base Clusters (without message center cluster): depress the reset stem on the cluster while turning the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
Message Center Clusters: depress the reset button in the vehicle while turning the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
Continue to hold down the reset stem/button for 5 seconds until the cluster message center displays "engineering test mode".
Press/cycle reset stem/button until the message center displays "manufacture" and the date of manufacture (MM-DD-YYYY).
Keep cycling through to get to mpg/KM, coolant temp, etc.

LOL, because that would be too easy.
Then again, I love mine and can't stand driving a car without one. Nothing like knowing your transmission fluid temp, torque converter's input to output shaft %, actual water temperature (not just a 3 position dummy gauge) and the cylinder head temperature.
