Been away for a while, but new truck!

Hi all, sorry I havent been around lately, got alot of things going on...

well 1st our house was flooded by the big atlanta area flood back in september. heres what it looked like, and the water went up a couple more feet from there....

the house is a complete loss, and whats worse, we had just finished completely renovating the interior, new hardwoods, kitchen, bathrooms, knocked down walls, etc...

Its all good because we were one of the lucky ones who had flood insurance, both on the house and its contents. Its a good thing becuase the only things we got out were some of my expensive tools, the vehicles, a few clothes and the pets... we are also lucky because the house across the street was for sale and the owners were nice enough to rent it to us(My wifes parents and brother lived in the house next to ours and got flooded also)

then, 2 weeks later some moron came flying through the neighborhood on wet roads, lost it and T-boned my wifes tacoma and totaled it... she loved that truck. heres what it looked like b4...

so now were are without a home and lost a vehicle, and whats next the tranny is going out AGAIN in my truck. I had picked up a nice barely used '06 tranny about a year ago, but, it was submerged in the flood. I decided to try it anyway. i cleaned it out real well and threw it in with my old torque converter and voila! runs like a champ!

I am still feeling bad my wife, so I decided to splurge a little a get her something nice. heres what we ended up with

Its an '07 3SS with only 15000 miles on it. And its one of a kind also. Tony Stewart helped assemble it, drove it off the line and signed the dash and vanity mirror. It also came with a certificate of authenticity. Im not a huge nascar or tony stewart fan, and really didnt pay any more for it, but its still kinda cool! This thing is staying stock though, I have enough maintenance issues with the 'OL f150. It doesnt need mods anyway, this thing skirts past my truck like its not even funny! Its a great ride, but I will still keep and mod the F150 forever! well maybe not forever but u know

Anyway, now I have a house to build so I'm gonna keep busy for a while longer!

I love your truck man. Those TBSS's are so sexy. Some kid on campus has one and he's got an exhuast on it... sounds wicked. Might have to get one myself someday

thanks, yeah this thing is great! i plan on throwing on a subtle muffler, one that you can only hear at WOT, and maybe a K&N drop in filter, but thats it. Its so nice to drive, I hate to screw it up. Its such a relief from my mufflerless, dropped truck LOL. And this beast will really throw you back in your seat. Im hoping to take it to the strip this spring with my truck and am fairly confident it will be in the 13's

Sorry to see your house get swallowed like that. I left Austell in April of this year so I didn't miss it by a whole lot. The house I lived in had the lower level destroyed in it by the storm. The owner didn't have flood insurance...was told they didn't need it when they bought new 7 or 8 years ago.

The TBSS is a sweet-looking ride, hope it holds up good for you. I haven't been impressed with the GM products I've owned from a reliability standpoint, but maybe I've just had bad luck. :-)

Glad you guys got out alright!

Wow sorry to hear about your house. That's a tough one considering you guys have been in a drought for so long just to be flooded out. :o I'm sure your wife is enjoying her new ride! That thing is sweet! Almost as cool as your truck. Good to have you back.

nice!!!! I guarantee that TBSS will be in the 13's. When I used to have my 350Z I was in a larger Z club (ChicagoZ.com) and one of my Z buddies had a TBSS as a DD......it would smoke our Z's stock for stock lol. Z's are 13 second cars....so if you can at least cut a decent RT and 60' w/ the TBSS I'm guessing low 13's....

yeah it was crazy here in atlanta, most people didnt have flood insurance because these areas were not considered to be a flood risk. We have a creek behind our house and are in a special flood zone. We knew the risk when we bought the house, but we loved the property, 1.5 acres. In the end we will be much better off than before the flood. My in-laws next door didnt fare so well. they were renting the house without renters insurance, so they lost everything. my other neighbors owned the home but didnt have insurance, so not only did they lose everything, but they have a wrecked house that they still owe money on...

as far as the TBSS, we were originally going to get this one:

it was easily a 12 sec truck with alot of interior and exterior upgrades. I was just afraid of problems down the road with it. I do want to adopt some of the exterior mods he did cuz i love the way that one looks. and a 12 second SUV wouldve been cool, but i want something that will last, and i have 2 years or 85k miles left on the warranty on the one we got.

such a shame you are leaving it stock... You have a beautiful motor in that ride that will totally destroy your truck with a blower.
