i hate this truck!!

ok i have a 2004 2wd f150 new body style with the 4.6. when i drive down the road the security light comes on and the truck will hesitate but keeps on going. if i stop and the light comes on it shuts the truck off i have to put it in park and it will fire right back up and run fine till the light comes back on. it does this about every 3-4 minutes. thanks

just looked at the truck again. the hesetation is actually the engine shutting off but i think with the truck rolling it fires it right back up. so i guess the engine just shuts off every 3-4 minutes.then it will fire right back up. the truck just sat for 2 weeks while i installed a new carrier in the rearend. when i got the rearend done i had the truck on blocks and let the tires spin off of the ground so this threw an abs code. so then i unhooked the - terminal on the battery to clear the code. not sure if this would have anything to do with my problem or not. any ideas? i really dont have the $$ to take it to the dealer and i can fix about anything just stumped on this one. thanks

Take it to the nearest auto zone or o'reillys parts store and have them plug a code reader into the truck and clear whatever comes up. Unhooking the battery cable useually doesn't work on the newer OBD II setups (like these trucks). If any codes pop up, jot down what it is, then clear it. If your problem goes away, then you should be ok, if not then you may need to fix whatever the code was.

did you just buy this truck? some dealers and detailers will power wash the motors to clean them. the high pressure water (any thing over normal water pressure) can and will force water into the electrical wire's ans short out stuff. i know this from my dealership doing it in the past.
