Anything to make a buck!

Geezes... I said it as a chevy owner and now starting to believe it. Fords Suuu... okay not just yet. Man.... do automobile companies now do things to screw with you? Of course they do. Took me about 3 hours today working on my truck. All I did was change the oil and the 3rd brake light. I had an easier time putting in the lowering kit.

First off... there can be no other reason put Ford put the oil filter in that location using a Damn IMPACT gun, other than for you to take it in for servicing. Or I'm sure they use a special type of tool. Needless to say the thing wouldn't budge and I ended up jacking her all the way in the air to get a screwdriver on the edge and hammer it off. Nope, I didn't search thinking it was just an oil change. My bad but by the time I realized it I was covered in oil an too filthy to go on the comp.

Then after that, I go to install my Recon smoke 3rd brake light and the brainless wonders at Ford decide to put the harness on the inside of the sheetmetal so you can't get to it except by pulling the headliner. Of course I took an hour just using a long screwdriver and angled long nose pliers to do it. Why in the hell do that other than to make a buck? They already got 3 holes punched out there for it to go where its reachable.

Sorry guys, needed to vent.

I dunno WTF you did wrong, but I can change my oil and 3rd brake light in under an hour, lol. I know because I did about 3 weeks ago. Get one of those little filter tools that hooks onto a socket driver, takes it off without a problem. IDK WTF your problem was with the 3rd brake light. I had mine taken out and new one installed in <10 min.

I dunno.... my '07 is a breeze on everything.

Why? I got the v6 with a standard.

Changing the oil doesn't even require me to jack the truck up, I can slide the oil pan under the truck and with one hand get the oil plug out. Then after that drains, plug it back up, and move to the oil filter. One handedly get that off, get a new one oiled up, screw it on one handedly. Then I filler up with oil, and I'm good to go. Fuel filter is a breeze too. Plus the alternator is a breeze to swap out. The plugs! Hahaha... I can do them totally knocked out drunk it's so easy.

Get the right engine.

I agree with hand tight ONLY on the oil filter... One of the reasons I do my own oil changes... Idiots like to put it on WAY too tight!

Also, make sure the old filter gasket comes off with the filter before putting the new one back on... Been there done that!!!!!!!!

Haha but I like being able to pull a trailer & keep up with traffic without making my truck sound like a dieing elephant.

That's not an engine- that's a starter motor for a REAL truck!

K.... dunno if there's a difference between you and WLB's truck and mine but there is not possible way you could have changed it in less than a minute unless its a totally different type of brake light only requiring you to change the housing. Or if you guys have chick fingers as long as E.T's because you can't even see the plug connection on mine and barely touch it, let alone try to plug it back in.

Takes me about 15 minutes to change the oil in my F150 with 5.4. I can reach and get the oil filter off by hand. Now the wife's new Expedition first oil change was a PITA since it had the factory oil filter on it that had never been off. But now her's is as easy as mine.

I changed out my 3rd brake light to a Chrome Ion one, & I do admitt it was a bytch to get to the connection, but I did not have to remove the headliner!.....

I changed the 3rd brake light on my 05 with OEM replacement and just kept the original wireing harness. The connector was inside the cab and I also did not want to peel back the headliner just to replace the light. I just shook my head at the time and thought WTF.
