agreed don't do something that you are not sure of

I was afraid my truck was a lemon too after a month it started to have the cam phasor problems...it was 2 days after my warranty from the dealer ran out

Look for a different truck if you are worried about putting a ton of miles on it...I lucked out and my 04 only had 57,000 on it

It drives fine other than the shutter... Inside and out is clean as a whistle... It's hard for me to believe the truck was miss treated. I am just not sure what to do yet... Like I said, maybe I will feel better when they tell me what went wrong and what the repair will be... If they are gonna just patch it up and hope I accept it and it last longer than carmax's 30 day warranty, they can keep it...

Perhaps you could take it to a mechanic that doesn't work for Carmax to give you an independent assessment of the vehicle's health. I'd come near trusting someone that won't be impacted by the transaction in any way than someone working at the dealership. Just a thought...

Good point. I will do that. The service manager called and said that the tranny place will warranty their work too... He knows I'm thinking about jumping from it... Our mechanic charges 100 or so for the overlook but its worth it...
