air lift air springs any good?

Looking at a set of "air lift" air springs for my 2004 f150 ext cab 6.5" box. I'd like them because I frequently haul snowmobiles on a trailer or sometimes on a deck in the back of my truck. What i'm wondering is how good the air lift ones are? I know firestone makes good ones but i found a deal on the air loft ones? I knw there's prpbably threads out there on this but I need a quick answer...Thanks!!!!!!

One of my best friends had them on an 06 chevy half ton and loved them, he had torsion keys on the front and the bags on the back and got 3 inches of lift. It rode amazing with 25 lbs, and could stay level with a kubbota tractor on a car hauler trailer at 50 lbs.

wow really, thats pretty sweet I want to get a leveling kit and helper air bag in the back so it doesn't sag in the rear. Did he have that same brand ? I am in the market for air bags too obviously.

I can't say anything for the Air Lift brand but I have Firestone Ride-Rite bags under my truck and love them. With 15 psi it give me about 3/4" of lift in the rear and firms up the ride just a bit. But when hauling or towing the bags are worth their weight in gold. Just a fyi: Firestone makes over 90% of the airbags used on semis, semi trailers, dump trucks, ect.

Here are a couple pictures of what a difference airbags can make. Both pictures were taken with the same exact load approximately 2500 lbs (1000lbs of patio blocks in the bed and about 1500lbs of tongue weight). The first pic there is no air in the bags, the second there is 65 psi.

Yes his were air lift, and PHS79 is right, they are made by Firestone. The kit required very little effort to install, and required minimal drilling...

I just looked up the part number in the link and that particular kit is only rated at 2000lbs. Which could be enough for what you use your truck for, but I would look for a kit with a rating of 5000 lbs. You may never need the 5000 lb rating, but it is nice to have if you do. But then sometimes 5000lbs isn't even enough, in this pic there is 2.2-2.4 yds of sand in the bed which is about 6000 lbs and when the picture was taken there was only 40ish psi in the bags. I never thought that I would put that much weight in the bed, but I was glad I had the bigger bags when I did.

No, I have Firestone Ride-Rites, part number 2350. I decided to go with the Firestone kit because of the 5000lb capacity, the reputation that they have with the bags on OTR truck, Firestone kit is no drill installation and also from recommendations from members here and on another site. It only took me about 1h15m to do the install and that was without jacking the truck up or taking the tires off like the directions said to do. If I would have done that I probably would have been done in less than an hour.

Guys,
Would this more better than the Bilstein kit? I tow a 30' travel trailer throughout the summer at a weight of about 8500lbs. I hate the "sag" in the rear and need something to help with that. Do you suggest the Firestone Riderite over the Bilstein adjustables?
Thanks!

The Bilstein adjustables are only for the front end, unless they have a new product that I don't know about.

Yes the air bags will help with the sag caused by your camper. Take a look at the pics that I post above with our small equipment trailer behind my truck. Personally I would get the Firestone kit, since they make most of the airbags in the market. Also they don't cost much more than the airlifts. I get my set used for $180 from a former member here who only had them on his truck for a couple months and was selling his truck. So you can keep an eye in the classifieds for a used set. Or you can find them brand new for around $250.

Yep, $250ish for the entire kit. Which is both bags and all the air lines, brackets for the bags, ect.
