Tell me about your truck

I am looking to get either a 2009 or 2004-2008 F150. Are you guys happy with yours? Have you had any problems at all. Are you overall pleased with your truck? Sorry for all the questions. Just trying to get some input here to help me out on buying a truck. Thanks for your help

I love my 2006, got it with 20K miles for $14,500.
no problems, but mine is a 2X4 not a 4X4, but it is a XLT.

I was normally getting 17 ish MPG but I spend most of my time on the highway, a new set of tires ( i went from 230-70-17 to 245-70-17 ) and a new SI/DO knock off muffler seems to be slightly better, BUT I have slowed down from normally 65 to 55-60 so that makes a large change, and almost the entire week I have managed to catch every light on the highway just right and not have to stop.

That said, there is always a bad apple in the barrel, but I think they are great trucks.

Have an 08 4x2 Lariat with every available option (except 4x4 obviously). Have only had a few minor issues that were more annoyances than anything which were covered under warranty. Other than that, it has been a great truck, currently 37K on it.

List of must haves for this truck: moonroof and power back glass --> I use it almost every morning barring freezing temps. I have the NAV/audiophile sound system, I have used the NAV system twice and don't consider it worth it unless you get lost a lot around home. Audiophile is a good stock sound system with enough punch for the average driver. Also a love of mine: the tow mirrors, wouldn't give em up for anything and they come in handy for daily driving more than towing because it eliminates all blind spots. Get the rear-view camera, you wouldn't think you'd use it but it becomes an essential piece of equipment, the rear sonar are worthless IMO.

I have 3.55LS rear end with the 5.4L and get about 15.5/17/19 for ghas mileage (city/mixed/highway).

Truck is very quiet, handles well, tows great. The only downsides people have is the acceleration, but I have sports cars to handle that, the truck does just fine for me. Rear end gear swaps to 4.10's solve that problem I'm sure.

I bought my 5.4L 06 Lariat 4x4 used with 30K miles on it in 11/07. I've now got 80K on it and have not had a moment's trouble... well, I did have a minor issue with the 4x4 hubs but extended warranty took care of it at no cost.

I drive thousands of miles each year, mostly highway cross country and the truck rides great. It's comfortable and when I pull my 6x10 enclosed trailer you hardly know it's there. Gas mileage ain't great - about 14-16 - but I have a heavy foot. And like Sooner truck says, acceleration isn't wonderful, but an Edge Evolution programmer solved the problem for me.

Plus, these trucks are fun to mod - I've added cold air intake, 20" tires and wheels, chrome tow hooks, led tails and 3rd brake light, HID headlights, an in-dash Kenwood GPS Nav, DVD, CD, satellite headunit, custom headrests, cat back dual exhausts, Bakflip tonneau cover, Roush upper and lower grilles, Roush rally racing stripes, Harley Davidson adjustable pedals and more that I can't think of right now.

I've had an Explorer, Expedition and GMC Yukon over the past 10 years - this is by far the most fun and best driving/riding vehicle of them all.

2006 5.4l v-8 xlt

Got my 06 back in Dec of 2007, since then I have put over 60K miles on it, only replacing brakes and tires, doing regular maintenance (oil every 3K, tires rot, etc). These trucks are great! If you read some posts, some have had trouble, but I am sure most of the folks on here would agree that this is hands-down the best truck. Also, pretty easy to add-mods, do some maint. by yourself with novice know-how.
Good Luck!

I bought my 2007 XLT 5.4 3v Screw new back in 2007! It has been flawless except for a faulty IWE Solenoid that was replaced under warranty! Now at 43K miles, I love her more & more everyday! Soon, I will love her even more when she's Paid For!......

I have a 04 supercab, FX4 with every option available in 04 except sliding rear window and power moon roof. I have had it for almost 4 yrs, I bought it with 30,000 miles and it now has 47500. I liked the truck in stock form, but love it the way that I have it modified (wheels, tires, leveling kit, rear airbags, performance mods, interior comfort mods and also just usability mods).

Overall I am very happy with the truck, I have never had any issues with it (knock on wood). But if I had to do it over again I wouldn't have bought it, as my use and needs for a truck have changed since when I first bought it. I am now towing and hauling more often and also more weight, hence the airbags in the rear, and also now we have a daughter. So if I had to do it over again I would have gotten a F250/350 crew cab. But the F150 is paid for, and also the mods I have make it do the work lot easier. So we are going to keep it around for awhile longer.

[/IMG]I have an 07 FX4 that has performed perfectly since the day it was new. I've been a for truck my entire life and this one has been the best yet. It's rugged enough to do some trail riding but rides great going down the interstate at 75MPH. What more does a guy need...performance and great looks.

I bought my '06 crew FX4 in Sept. '09 with 37k. Now has 39k lol Its an awesome truck. I love it I will be keepin this one for probably 7 years. Like others have said all vehicles have their quirks, but these trucks are made to get the job done.
