Smile FAST!! should I buy??

I know this has been said over and over...but, the pros and cons has me confused...

I can buy a superchip programmer (red one) now for 250 from a friend...he claims its better than edge...or I can order an edge evo online for 350... I just want more power & better response from my 05 stx 4.6, Im not really needing the gauges that edge provides (I installed the fx4 cluster) ... I just bought the supertruck Gibson exhaust and plan to do the Gotts mod with K&N filter..

So, someone tell me which one!!??? thanks

Rule of thumb, anything with "super" in it must suck (besides Super Duty). Go with the EDGE, possibly the best non-custom programmer out there.

Crap! These "deals" always come back to bite me...the super-truck gibson cost me 100, so I hope I gain something from it if not just looks...

I was bidding on an edge on ebay, when the superchip came available...any cons in getting it?? Im looking at saving 100 dollars...but I dont want another "no deal" on the list..

If I were you I would order a Gryphon from PHP. They are on sale right now for $30 bucks off. You just missed an additional 5% off making it the same cost as the edge. If you decide not to get the gryphon then by all means go with the edge.

If your "friend" is rushing you to buy it, you don't want it. Tell him to give you time to research it to see if its the best suitable application for you. If he want give you time then you got your answer.

good one. If you already have the $250 for the other one, I would hold off and save up the extra $100-$125 and get the Gryphon or the Edge. Not telling you what to do with your $$$ but I think in the long run you will be happier.

Another rule of thumb.....take anything 4.6 Punisher says with a grain of salt.

I had a superchips tuner and it worked great. However if the one you may get is used, you should be able to get it cheaper than $250.

my vote goes to superchips. my truck is a 4.6 with flowmaster 40 exhaust, gotts modd with a k&n filter. i bought a superchips flashpaq, had it for a couple weeks, traded it in for a new edge to get the gauges, i never liked the performance of the edge tuner so after about 7 months i sold it and now ive got a superchips cortex. the only thing i miss about the edge tuner was how fast you could change your tune, superchips takes a few minutes and edge only took a few seconds, but now ive got mine set up how i want it and dont have to worry about that anymore.

....ooohhh ....here we go..confusion sets in...then ..i sit..doing nothing afraid I will make the wrong decision...

ok, so the Cruz of it is: 250 is too much for a used superchip, wait to buy an edge that could be custom tuned,..and finally, Bigchief has the cleanest truck around....bottom line is edge seems to win the argument here..

great comments everyone
