ok hear is the deal i had an axle seal leak on my 2004 f150 ex cab 4.6 auto. from what i could make out on the tag it says its an 8.8 rearend. the cover also has 10 bolts. the problem is when i went to the parts stores 2 differant ones the seals that fit the rearend are for a 9.75? even looking online it does take 9.75 seals. i am just wondering which rear it is because after i tore it down it also needs spider gears all this at 60k. just want to make sure i get the right spiders the first time.thanks

 

With the 4.6 it is the 8.8 rearend

The 9.75" has 12 bolts, so you can rule that out.
