Ideas for reverse camera
Ideas for reverse camera
OK, so my buddy and I are looking for a better way to mount some reverse camera monitors.
He has an 09 1500 so of course his idea was for dual sided tape and velcro.
Since I drive a Ford, I figured I'd show some innovation. My idea is to take out the Cup Holder assembly on the dash and mount my Camera monitor (I havent bought a kit yet) and my GPS and making a bracket that will fit in the rails of the cup holder assembly and hard wireing both devices (The camera would be on all the time). Then I could just fold down and slide in the screens, hiding them from view. Only problem is I am restricted to the screen size of the camera monitor by the GPS and available space in the CH Assembly. What do you guys think? What intresting way do ya'll mount these things to keep a "clean" look??

I custom mounted a 7" color monitor in the back side of my visor. You see it when it's down, hidden when it's up. I like doing custom stuff but though it came out really nice, it was a lot of work. Had to remove the visor mirror and pull the trim back so that I could carve the back out to fit the monitor in. Ran the cord through the hole in the visor mount tube and down inside the L. W/S post trim. Probably would think again if I had known it would take the work it did, but the visor goes all the way up which it wouldn't without insetting it. It does look like factory though.
