Road Armor Bumper

ok well found a guy selling one for $450 and i am receiving pictures of it later tonight and will post up here. The guy said its 3 yrs old and in good condition but obviously the normal wear over the years. So depending on how bad it is ill just get it re line x'd or something and still be a damm good deal. Now i have a body lift does anyone know who makes the brackets for people like me with body lifts? Now a couple of you guys with them or bumpers this heavy will they put a lot of stress on my ball joints considering i have a leveling kit? How bad it is on the braking after putting it on? He also said it was a full replacement bumper and i asked him if it was the pre runner style and he didnt really understand what i meant i guess. He also said it had the tubing on top of it so is this the style they first came out with and dont sell anymore for the f150s? kinda like what the superduty ones look like now?

Thanks Guys

me either hope it looks better than what im thinking haha but like i said i would just get it line x'd if it was weathered a little bit and that would solve it all i really hope its the raptor or the pre runner style not sure if ill like the look of it being like the ones on the 250s with all the tubing on top

$450!! I have spent almost that much in supplies - carbon steel plate, cutoff disks, grinding wheels, etc. trying to make my own road armor style bumper. Is your current front bumper mounted with special brackets to accommodate your body lift or do you have a gap? I bought my truck with a 3" body lift already on it with the bumpers mounted using modified brackets. I plan on using these same brackets to mount the new bumper I'm making. Know any welders that could fab you up a couple? You might even be able to make some yourself by buying some angle iron and doing some drilling and cutting, without welding. I hope you get that bumper... maybe gimme some measurements off of the thing to help me fab up mine. Looking forward to seeing pics!

even if it doesn't look good it was a steal that you couldnt pass up! you should be able to sell it once again if you don't like it

The way I understand it, the Road Armor bumpers are a full replacement, and should fit right on to your existing bumper brackets. I do not know if you'll need different bolts or what have you. You'll have confirmation when you get pics, but it should look as you described, the one they don't sell anymore that looks like the SD style. It IS a heavier bumper, so yes there will probably be a bit more braking distance involved.

And yes, at $450 it's a good deal.

^ umm no.

The existing brackets aren't made to hold that much weight. It will come with beefier brackets. You'll want a buddy or 4 to help to get it installed but get it sprayed first. Either way that's a killer deal even if it don't work out for you. You could resell it and still make a profit easy.

you will need to adjust brackets or just weld it to the frame if you don't plan on taking the body lift off.

$450 is a steal aren't they like around 2k new?

post pics when you get them.

RA bumpers start at $2500, I believe. I also hear they're extremely heavy. I went with Boondock Bumpers for a damn good price. It's a beast that only weighs 175lbs.

That's one heck of a deal. Why are you waiting on pictures? Unless it's been in a crash, you should leave right now to get it. Go!

Wait, why is he selling this thing for such a low price?

Hockey, I ended up getting the snow plow prep package heavy duty springs for the front after I put mine on. Haven't noticed any difference in the way the truck rides.

i have no idea why its such a low price thats why i want pics first ya know. I also have a six inch skyjacker lift with a 2inch leveling kit and will install bilsteins when i get home so not sure how that will work with those heavy duty springs unless they make them for a 6inch lift. How much they run you?

FREEKY- I would go pick it up now but im in Iraq for another 6 days then i start getting on planes to go home but as soon as my first day off im going to get it
