I'm pretty much the same way with the new engines... I could tear down and rebuild the old V8s, even knew what performance parts worked better for trucks vs. stangs. now.. ugh.. I dont have a 5.4 yet, but the 4.6.. between the truck 4.6 with 2v and the new 09-2010 3vs.. the stangs having 2, 3 and 4.. ugh.. still trying to figure out ways to increase the hp on the 4.6.. on the 4.2.. I don't know about the engine, but the intake was originally used on the SHO's. Also, there was a chip in the first run 97's that had better performance than the later models. I only know this cuz my older brother had a pre-97 XL. when he upgraded to a 98 there was a big difference in performance. so he found a pre-97 for sale and when he test drove it he swapped chips with the 98 LOL. I cant tell ya much else bout it though, I was 17 at the time and wasnt paying uch attention to it. I was too busy rebuilding my 302 and FMX trans in my 84 F150.
