Need to lower steering rack on 2WD

Anyone know if you can buy a spacer kit to lower the steering rack on an 04 ( Non Heritage ) 2WD? I already asked Fabtech and Rough Country and neither of them have anything 2WD specific.

Why do you need to lower the rack? Lowering it will throw off the angles of you tie rods in relation to your suspension arms which will cause bump steer and other issues

cut and reweld the mounting eyes. you might need to lengthen the steering shaft depending on how low you move it

It's not for my truck. It's for my buddy. He just put on the autospring and the Belltech shocks with 2" adjustment. Had a shop install camber plates and all but they said the rack has to be lowered to get the alignment right. The tie rods are at a pretty extreme angle right now.

can you flip the tie rods upside down? like if the nut is on the top side, have it stab through the top of the knuckle and have the nut on the bottom side

We tried that. Problem is, the hole in the steering knuckle is tappered as is the tie rod end so it wont fit

yea you will need to drill out the knuckle and put a non tapered stud on the tie rod end

do a google search for bullet proof tie rods, and follow their method of drilling and using a straight stud tie rod

He needs to get a real lift with knuckles that have the tie rod mounting point moved. If you move the rack down and don't move the a-arm mounts the arms will be at different angles and it will not steer correctly.
