Window regulator question ?

Okay so, it took me a LONG time to notice this, but my passenger side window doesn't roll up from the passenger side control. I almost never sit in the passenger side (noticed one night while sleeping in the passenger side) but it opens / closes just fine with the drivers side controls.

So, after I found this out, I immediatly started thinking that when I had my mids / highs installed, they must have disconnected something, and forgot to hook it back up when they closed up the door.
Since I plan to do some sound deadening on my doors soon anyway, I figured I'd just hook it back up while I had the door panels off.

But then I found (in a search) quite a few guys who have had issues with 04-08 window regulators ??? If that were my case, could I still use the drivers side control to open / close it ? Or, would it flat just not open / close at all ???

If it was the regulator, of course I'd want that to be fixed under warranty ASAP....

Thanks,
Fish

do you have the child locks engaged??? My drivers controls have a button that locks out all the other controls

Either way, its NOT the regulator. If it were, then the window wouldn't move at all.

It must be somewhere in the wiring or the switch on the passenger door.

Agreed, it can not be the regulator, has to be in the switches or wiring.

Doh !

Okay, I'm a dum-bass

My only excuse is, that one time I was trying to open the passenger window from the passenger side, and it would not work, it was after dark, and that freaking child safety lock is the only one that doesn't light up

Oh well. Glad to know nothings broke.

I just wish I could say that was the dumbest thing I did in 09'......

Peace,
Fish

I frequently hit mine accidently, usually during cleaning, and my wife can't get her side to work. So I have learned.

I bet you it's the switch which is what my problem was and many others. The 2 contacts get crudded up with dirt or if there has been smoking in your truck ashes crud it up.

This fixed my issues and I said screw it and decided to clean all my switches. They all work perfect and back to normal speed:
