Unhappy i hate that this will be my first thread to post on here but...

Howdy all. I have been a member for a few months now and love reading about things F150 owners are doing to their trucks. I always wanted to do a transformation thread on my truck but never started one. And now my first thread will be some bad news.

Yesterday after driving home from College Station to my hometown and grabbing some stuff from the house, I was driving out to my deer lease with my girlfriend and little brother (today was opening day where i live). On the way there a little spike buck ran out in front of me on the road. I was going about 55 and i slammed on the brakes and slowed down to about 20 before hitting the thing. It flopped off into the ditch and i pulled over to see the damage it did.

I drove back home with both headlights still burning and snapped a couple pictures with my cell before we all piled in my brothers truck and headed back out. The night shots were the ones i took after it happened and i also took a couple today.

As you may or may not could tell from the pictures it didnt do any really serious damage, just busted my grille and passenger headlight, as well as breaking the bumper pad. I took out my headlight and messed around on it today to see what all had to be replaced and the list came to headlight, grille, grille surround, headlight bracket, and bumper pad.

I was really fortunate it wasn't worse, but its still a bummer. The old man said we cant put it on insurance, so this means i have to pay out of my pocket to fix it. I am going to try to do it all myself, although im not sure what all it will entail yet. As a broke, as of now jobless, 18 year old college kid, this is a pretty rough blow to my nonexistant pocketbook. not to mention leaving me without a ride back to A&M.

I have ordered a headlight on ebay and it seems like i can find everything with relative ease, with the exception of the bumper pad and grille surround. So if you guys have any idea where i could get those (cheap preferably) i would really appreciate it.

Thanks for reading my sobstory, and i regret that this is the first time my truck will be seen on the site.

Ouch man, that sucks. Tons of deer around where I am too. Fortunately I haven't hit one, hope it stays that way.

Don't feel bad that that is your first post. Even without posting before, you seem to know how to know post here! Some people's first posts seem kind of strange...
Anyway, sorry about that deer, but it could have been alot worse.
Most of the beginning of my build-up thread is my accident, so don't worry about that.
I know that you said that you already bought headlights, but I have a set of OEM headlights and the same H-Bar grille that you have (so if you wanted to return it to stock...) I have some things that I'd pass on pretty cheap.
Well good luck with the repair, and welcome to the board!

Sorry to hear that. I missed two fawns this summer, but not by much. I was only going 35 and was able to stop before I hit them.

Hate to see your truck messed up but take advantage and color match the grill and bumper pad. I had a pretty bad accident and did some upgrades on my truck while it was fixed. No better time than now!

So, it was opening day for deer and you got one before you even made it to your hunting grounds? Congratulations, I'm sure there are plenty of people who would be happy with that aim.

Sorry to hear about the damage to your truck though, it always sucks to replace things.

dang that sucks. i know where you might be able to get a bumper pad at. http://www.bramblettautoparts.com/ its in carthage, tx about 75 miles north of lufkin. also ive got a couple h bar grilles; ones a little damaged (a couple small cracks). it doesnt have a surround or emblem but you can have it free if ya come get it or pay shipping (should be less than $20). the other one is undamaged with or without the emblem and a bright red surround, the surround does have a small crack. ill sell ya that one for a good price.

I've been trying to be careful myself... I know most if not all the deer "hotspots" by now, but I'm still leary...

I also hate driving at night because that is usually when they are out roaming and are spooked by anything.
