Need Opinions

Hi there,

I am looking into possibly buying a new truck and one that I am looking at has a decent dent in the front bumper and I'm wondering what I should expect to pay to replace it. Also, if anyone has replaced a bumper on their own truck, an idea of how easy or hard it was to work on yourself would be helpful. The truck is a 2005 XLT Supercrew. Here are a couple pics of it, you can see the dent a little to the left of center where the license plate should be, also you can see that there is a distiguishable gap on the right side versus the left side where chrome meets the painted part. Thanks for looking and any opinions are appreciated.

No one? Please, I could use the advice. I am liking this truck, but if the bumper is going to be a headache for me, I might look for something else. I just want to get an idea of what it would take to fix the dent.

Thanks

My wife hit a pole with my F150 back in may and I had to remove the front bumper to straighten the brakets and pull a couple small dents out. It was a low speed impact so their wasn't much damage. As for the price of a new bumper I think I've seen a site before with them a little bit cheaper but a quick google search brought up this place that sells the chrome bumper for $300. http://www.partswebsite.com/fordpart...102&type=parts Removing the front bumper isn't very hard. I can't remember the exact count but theirs a lot of bolts that have to be removed. It only took me about 45 minutes to remove the bumper. reinstalling the new one will require the help of a buddy unless your the incredible hulk. Also you may can find a good used bumper at a salvage yard for well over half the price of a new one. Good luck!

sounds like a good excuse to upgrade to a bumper with fog lights

you can find a 04-05 chrome bumper on ebay for around $200, check the classifieds here aswell

like 2004Trition5.4 said its not hard , i took mine off by myself , it was only 4 brackets you have to remove, but you are gunna want an extra set of hands putting it back on.
