Question Drivers seat belt starting to fray

Posted this in the "Interior" forum and decided to copy it to here.....

Hey guys, I know that I cannot be the only guy with this problem so I'd like to hear if anyone else came up with a solution to this......

The shoulder belt on my 06 is rubbing on the plastic housing it comes out of on the drivers seat when I (always) wear it. The left side (if your looking straight at it) of the belt is starting to fray a little and I'd like to fix it before it becomes a problem. I'm 6ft 2in tall so I assume there are other F150 owners out there just as tall or taller than me.

I took a small, round file and extended the left side of the "smile" (for lack of a better term) on the black plastic housing but it still rubs a bit. Is there an adjustment in the seat I could do? Has anyone had this problem? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

What I'm wondering is, wouldn't it actually be the right side of the shoulder belt? Or, is the seat belt mounted to the driver's seat. Now that I think about it, is that how the supercab seatbelts are? That would make sense. I'm wondering if you could just focus on pulling the belt straight out rather than pulling it against the edge of that housing. I know that doesn't fix the problem, but it might at least keep it from getting worse.

I'm sorry, my truck is a supercab and the seatbelt is attached to the upper right part of the seat.

The rubbing occurs when the belt is clipped in, not when I am attaching it. I think the problem is due to the fact my shoulders are above the height of where the belt comes out of the seat. The belt is going upward from the plastic housing and is being pushed against the upper left portion of the "smile" of the black plastic piece when I'm sitting in the seat. Like I said in my original post, I'm 6ft 2in so I know I'm not the tallest F150 owner here, lol.
