I'm not sure why they leak moisture but I found if you use them once and a while they clear right up.

I am hoping for better luck than some. I just purchased some hella blackouts, BEFORE installing them, I will be applying auto grade silicone. I shouldn't have to at this price point but better safe than sorry.

why not just fix them?

remove from the truck and suck out any pooled moisture. then use a hairdryer and dry out the interior.

then take some outdoor grade silicone that specifically says "stays pliant". seal the seam between the casing and the lens.

I agree it's crap, but most members who have done this fixed the issue 100%. Hella cheaps out on that seal for some reason. A little quick DIY preventative silicone seems to always do the trick

I got my hellas today, they had a manufacture date on them from December of 2008. I have to say that they looked to be sealed very well, I pulled the oem lights and found that the OEM lights appeared to have more sealant at the bottom of the lens. So, I sealed the hellas with automotive grade silicone, especially at the bottom. Installed the lights and I love the look. I hope (fingers crossed) that I don't have any leaking issues, I do know that hella sold a bunch of these lights and some have no problems and a few have had major issues. I will post again after a few rains to update.

I resealed my headlights with RTV and I still had leaks on the old defective pair.

I'm hoping for no leaks on the new set.

Well, i removed the headlight, theres approx 1/4" water inside !

I drained it with cloth towel thru the holes and then used my wifes hair dryer (hot!) to dry it up.. then waited over an hour and applied w clear RTV silcone.
Its for tempy till i get new sets.

Oh well
