He is really cool though, i am stationed in germany currently but moving to florida in january, and he said if i do buy it, then he will put a cover over it and hold it in his fensed in lot for me until i come and pick it up.
if you dont mind me asking, what are the specs of the FX4's ? Gears and what not? And with that current setup(exhaust/chip/intake) what do you think its puttin out numbers wise? i know stock its rated at 300HP and 365ftlbs
Sounds like that price is making you pay for their mods. I have always had a problem with purchasing modded trucks with Edge programmers. You can do alot of bad stuff with those. Its why Ford is so quick to snub warranties when they know you have one. With that being said, it has high miles. Also do for the dreaded spark plug change.
With that being said, you should be able to work a much better deal bringing up those items...

hmmm. whats so bad about the spark plug change? 05 isnt the year they had the fuel injector problems is it?
I think its funny that you are saying bad stuff about edge programmers and there is an edge add on here right now lol.
Yeah Trent. I finally made the plunge lol.. God, Im starting to think i should pass, but i REALLY want a Freaking F150 Already! lol

OK guys, so what would be a good price to start negotiating with this guy? Im thinking around 12 or 13? I really like this truck. what problems do you guys forsee with this many miles on an 05 though?

I think you should do a "Search" on the spark plug change. They break off during removals $450-$1400 thru dealers on average. Labor goes up big time if they break and at worst, they may have pull the heads. You don't want to stumble into that nightmare after putting money down on a truck.
At least get them to do the change before you accept the truck. With that kind of mileage, you are guaranteed to get up close and personal with Ford's BS spark plug design. Yeah, 05 had the injector problems, but Ford is taking responsibility...

No, edge programmers in the hands of people who know what they are doing, work fine. Its the people who change values without knowing the consequences, who cause problems. You have no idea what the person before you, did to the truck, with the Edge.
Sort of like a used Civic for sale with a hitch attached to it. The hitch isn't bad, what the guy could have towed with the hitch is the problem, tranny could be set to blow up the minute you buy it. So I would take a used Civic without the hitch, thats one thing less I have to worry about.
If you are up to handling the risk, then use some of those items to talk the price down. At minimum though, have them change the spark plugs out on their dime...
