Shudder when downshifting

I have a 2004 XLT Super Crew. I recently noticed that when I am driving and my truck downshifts, there is a slight shudder. It sounds like when you drive over the rumble strips on the highway. It only last for a few seconds but was not sure if this could be the begging of a larger problem.

My truck only has 50K on it and I have not had the trans serviced yet (fluid change/filter). Anyone know what this could be?

Sounds like the torque converter. I would get your tranny checked out ASAP. Try having it flushed and filled back with the correct fluid weight. Or you could get a bottle of Shutter Stop and see it that will correct the problem.

However, your truck only having 50K your TQ should be good.

with our trucks' track records, i highly suggest getting the tranny looked at and at the very least, serviced.

seems that many of us, including myself, are getting to that 80k mile crash-n-burn point where all of our trannys are designed to self-destruct.

be proactive, get it looked at.
