Need help! engine noise on startup and a loose seat

hey guys, two different problems for you.

1. on startup i get a kind of high pitched squealing noise, think its a belt maybe?, that goes away after alittle while or once i put into drive. any idea of how to fix or whats wrong before i take it to the dealership?

2. my front passenger seat has some movement to it. the seat is connected to the cab perfectly, but almost like the tracks dont fully catch so it has alittle movement, but not enough to like move to the next notch on the track.... any ideas?

Thanks guys

You're on the right track.

1) sounds like a belt squeak issue. Solve it with the correct size Goodyear Gatorback. I know mine used to squeak a bit when it was really humid on the 1st startup, until I installed the Gatorback belt, then it stopped.

2) sounds like a seat track issue. You need to fiddle around under the seat and look under there and see what's really going on.

problem #1, i had the same problem on my 08 screw. on cold morning startups i would get a squeak.. so i took it to the dealer and what they did at 1st was replace the alternator cuz they thought it was the bearing in it. next day i start it up and it still happened so i brought it back and the 2nd time i guess they called up their ford hotline and they said to replace the belt feeder pulley. i forgot what they said but some portion of the pulley was plastic, so they replaced it with a metal pulley. that solved my problem

ok as far as the seat goes, ive tried many times to get a actual look at where the movement is coming from but cant see anything, the track is my best guess and not sure how i would go about trying to figure it out/fix it.

as for the engine, it sounds like belt or pulley or something along those lines might be the right track. Is this something that i should be worried about or is this a lower priority?

thanks
