Question on Train Horns??
Question on Train Horns??
I was looking into these about a year ago and came on the forum to check out some options. Almost everyone reccomended the same brand of horns and I cant remember what they were?? I think I had 20 replies and all but 2 were for the same brand. I cant find that post anymore.
Any Help??
I am ordering 2 sets this year, 1 for the truck and one for my boat. I dont mind paying extra for quality, but dont want a rip off either. I have heard some of them are just glorified "air horns". NOT what I want.
Thanks for any help guys!

Go to Train Horn Forums and they can answer any questions that you have. They are a great bunch of guys. I have a Nathan K5 on my truck and love it.
Siege Engineering horns are made in China. The Hornblasters Shocker kits are made in the USA. Do some research before you buy anything. There are some good kits out there that sound like train horns, but a real train horn will cost you some serious cash. I have about $1500 in mine.

This is news to me. When I ordered mine 3 years ago they were a company in Pensylvannia I think and said they made them all in-house. Has the process changed or was I douped? I have had no issues with mine and they have been though a lot. Not as good as a set or Leslies or Nathans, but for the price at the time they have served me well.
Only issue I had with the siege horns was when I filled mine with water and mud when it was under the truck making the switch lock up. Some WD40 and a few quick cycles cleared that up.
Course I would love to have Nathan's but can't drop that kind of money for what's really no more than a novelty item for me.
edit: Well I tried looking up siege on ebay and they seem to have stopped selling there.
