Longevity of the F150?

I know these trucks seem to go and go, but Im looking for some guidance. I have a 2004 FX4 with 90k miles. I purchased the truck used two years ago with 12k on it. I use this for work and put on about 40K per year. My concern is I will be pushing 200k miles by the time I have paid the truck off. I follow all of the scheduled maintenance and I know the real world adds more variables than one could ever predict, but can any one tell me what is expected of these trucks for longevity? I’m at a real cross road over paying the truck off and running it dead or trading in and taking at hit in the wallet. I appreciate your thoughts comments ect…

Keep running it. As long as you don't beat on it, these trucks should easily last 200-250K

I'd keep it til it dies or is paid off, no reason to take a hit.

Run it until it dies.... then resurrect it. No reason to take the hit in the wallet if you don't have to.

I've kept F-150's for over 11 years, and when I did sell it, everything worked perfectly.

If you are diligent in fixing small stuff that breaks right away as I did, you will be fine.

The biggest thing I think you will get hit with before 200K is a transmission rebuild/replacement - other than that you should be good.

A friend of the family has a 99 F150 5.4 and has 450,000 miles on it! the only think he has replaced was the water pump and radiator.

I have faith in Ford.

I know it's a 250, I know it's an old truck. I'm certain Ford has only constantly improved their designs. How many old beasts like this do you still see on the road?

I have a 2001 F150 that's fairly new to us with 160K on it but I also have a 1995 F150 with over 350K on it. Mostly original parts on both, the 95 has a new gas tank as of last year but motor and trans have been good (knocking on something...).
