IRRC 1 yard. Weight who knows, it could be wet or dry and the different wood densities would all vary the weight. You won't have any problems hauling it though. I'd be more worried about it blowing all over the road.

A lot more than 1 yard, my 6.5ft held about 2.5yds.

Here's a pic of it with 2.5:

We guess it weighed somewhere around 1.5k which was slightly over wight for me but only by a couple hundred pounds and it was only a few miles from where where we bought it to the destination.

It is a 4x4 at stock ride height and I had about 2" until I was touching the bump stops.

A yard of mulch is 3x3x3 = 27sq ft, while your truck is 5x8x2 = 80sq ft. Figure roughly three yards depending on how much you heap it above the top of the box. Mulch is light, maybe 400 - 700 lbs per yard.

I work for a landscaping company and when we fill an 8' bed of a 350 we call four yards when we deliver it, we also mound it over the top quite a bit.

You will have about 3 yds in a 8' bed. A good figure for mulch is 750-800 lbs per yd, but of course it can be more or less depending on how wet or dry it is.

We had 10yds, +/- a bit, in our trailer. When we ran the scale at the mill the weight was at 8900 lbs, and the trailer weighs in just under 1200lbs.

On edit: Here is a couple pics, there is 2 yds +/- of mulch in front of the tractor. Tractor 2000lbs, mulch 1600lbs, trailer 1200lbs=totaling 4800 lbs, plus 1000 lbs of patio blocks in the bed of the truck.

With 65 psi in the air bags

I take 2 yards in my 5.5 foot bed, and it mounds up to about half way up the rear window. Three to 3.5 sounds about right to me for an 8 ft bed.

Your wheel wells take away about four to five cu. ft. so the 2.5 cu. yd. quoted above is really close.

Yeah... no problem!

I notice you've got the v6! Do you have it with the 5 speed stick or automatic?

Mine's the stick... and I love it.

But please, take some pictures of your truck hard at work and post them up. I love to see 8' beds in use.

Yep, it does fine even without using the airbags. But trust me you do know that it is there. A pallet of sod is usually 1700-1900 lbs.
