aftermarket fog lights in factory holes 04-08

hey guys here recently i have been riding around with no fogs due to one of my hid ballasts going out. so since both of my factory fog lights keep getting water in them i am going to find a way to mount some piaa fog lights/driving lights in place of the factory ones. i also plan in the near future getting 4 of the fog/driving piaa lights and putting them on a light bar on the front. all this is mainly due to the fact that im not really comfortable with all of the wiring i have ran all over my truck. right now i have. 6 ballasts, 3 relays, amp wires, neon wires, air compressor wires, and my engine bay just seems cramped to me so i play on cleaning everything up and getting rid of 4 of those ballasts and 2 of the relays in the process.

anywho to a question, do any of you know of which one of piaa's lights would be easiest to mod to fit the factory housing? or one from another light company?

I would just keep the stock fogs in , but put some sealant/grease around the base of the bulb or where u think water is getting in.
then just put those 4 piaa lights in the bull bar

yeah but the main reason for this would be to get rid of some wires, plus i think piaa's would work a lot better than my hid's, for fog at least. right now my fogs get so much water on the lenses that i can't even tell they are on at night.

i think i might take the fog light mounting brackets out, order some piaa's and mod them to fit while off the truck, since i can't use my fog lights right now anyways. i think the piaa grill on the lights would look pretty BA in the fog holes.

i agree it would look sweet , but like i said i would try and reseal your stock fogs, keep the stock look , and no headaches with custom fitting them

wouldnt you be adding more wires with piaa's as the fogs ? lol

ha after doing a bit of research i think the piaa 510 atp would work great for this. it's about 4 1/2in. which is about the size of the factory fogs. and the smr is a combo of driving and flood lights so it would function pretty well. after all i plan on getting four piaa 525's so they can handle fog.

lol with the piaas in place of my factory fogs i would be getting rid of two ballasts and the wires that go with them. plus when i get the 525's ill get rid of the two hid hella's behind my grill so that'll get rid of two more ballasts. so the only thing hid ill have will be my headlights. i don't know for some reason hids just make me kind of iffy, i guess they just seem unreliable to me.

now time to get the $$ up for all those lights + an n-fab light bar.

i can't wait, my buddy has a 2500 gmc with four of the 520 ion fogs on the front and he can literally light up a whole street and all the houses on the sides.

My 525's do the same The combination of my headlights, the four PIAA 525's, and the pair of Warn 100 watt spotlights in the bumper is blinding!

oh yeah it's amazing, i just wish the 525's weren't so dang expensive, but hey its like having two lights for each one so i guess it's cheaper than buying 2 lights.
