"Best" is somewhat subjective, no? I don't use Amsoil, so I don't know for sure. But a quick Google search shows Amsoil at about $9 per quart. I buy Motorcraft at Walmart for $12.50 for a 5-quart jug. To me, the best is Motorcraft because it works and it's significantly cheaper than Amsoil (or Mobil 1, or anything else).

I use Motorcraft 5w20 semisyn from Walmart Bros.....$11.50 for a 5 qt jug here in GA. Motorcraft 820S oil filter too.

I changed mine to synthetic at 500 miles, and 80,000 later it is running fine. If you are changing oil at 3000 miles, it doesn't matter what you use as today's conventional oils can easily cover a 3000 mile change interval. Most of today's synthetics can easily protect your engine past Ford's 5000 mile change recommendation. So no matter what route you go, your truck will be fine.
