how do you remove rear taillights?

how do you remove rear taillights?

need to remove these for tinting....how do i yank em out?

drop the tailgate and there are two screws on each side, in blank holes where the tailgate closes

Once you take out the screws just get your fingers behind the light assemble on each side and pull straight out. There are 2 friction pins on each side of the assembly that go into the body part so don't try to swing the unit to one side or the other because one or both of the pins will break on the side you swing toward (I did that).

Pull towards the rear of the truck and not out to the side.

oh and whatever you do don't stick your finger in one of the holes in between the two screws. it will get stuck. lol mine did and i was stuck until i called my dad to get some soap. lol lesson learned, don't stick your finger in strange holes.
