They are great. A lot better than the OEM shocks with a more responsive ride and better shock absorption. I mainly drive down gravel and dirt roads and they get pretty bad with pot holes and ruts. I've had them maybe 2 years now.

Both good choices. I would think if you put them on yourself go with Bilstein, but if you have someone do it get the Ranchos. Last I saw Sears had the Ranchos on sale with free installation.

Bilsteins. I would take my truck alot of places for suspension work, but Sears is not one of them.

I don't know why Rancho's would be harder to install than Bilstein's. I installed the Rancho QuikLift's in my garage. You do need a stout spring compressor because both of these struts require more compression than the stock struts.

I like the adjustability of the Rancho's with the 9 firmness settings. They've been good shocks to this point. I installed the XL9000s in the rear. I have a remote controller for the shock settings. I've got pics in a thread somewhere in this forum.

We are talking about replacing shocks, which is not too tough of a job. Many here suggest we can put them on ourselves even if we don't do this for a living. Besides, I request Dean who has 30 years experience, and is a Ford buff. He did the work on my 01 when I had the Rancho's 9000s put on, and the front end alignment was perfect.

If your responding to my post, I think you need to read it again. In my neighborhood it is easy to find someone to sell and install Ranchos, but if you want Bilsteins then you buy the shocks and then find someone to install them. Some shops would not install anything they did not sell. Some shops would install the Bilsteins for me but made it clear they would not warranty them. When I put Ranchos on my 01, they were on sale with free installation, and later when the ride adjustment froze up Sears replaced my shocks for no charge.

That is why I say, if your going to have a shop put your shocks on, the Ranchos are a good choice if you find a shop that sells them. Then again, maybe there are shops which sell and install Bilstein and I just have not found them yet.

Sorry, I think what you posted above clarifies your point.
