Reverse sensing system problem PLEASE HELP

Hey guys Ive been to the dealership but its like a bunch of idiots work there and can never order the right part. My problem is when i have the radio on at a normal level and i am in reverse, when the sensors find an obstacle they beep but do not mute the radio level. In the manual it says the parking system should mute the radio to a predetermined level. Can anybody else tell me if their truck mutes the radio a little when the sensors pick up an obstacle. I have an 08 lariat with the 6 disk radio. They have replaced the radio and now are ordering me a parking module. Thanks for the help.

I don't recall it lowering the radio when they come on, but then it may be at higher listening levels that it reduces the volume. I'll check tomorrow.

Mine does. When backing up, as soon as the sensor detects an object, the volume decreases and it sort of bothers me it does because the beeping is loud enough as is. When I put in an aftermarket (2 different ones) this feature was lost but not a big deal to me at all.

I have a 2008 Limited, and it never lowered the radio volume, im sorry, but that would be so incredibly annoying i dont know why you would want it to do that, your just causing the guys at ford a huge headache. The noise its already annoying enough..
Now, i have a bigger problem. MINES NOT WORKING!!!! and i miss the damn annoying noise! lol. AND my back up camera in the rearview mirror and my reverse lights are not working. Anyone have any clue as to why this is? or why this might be?

FYI - the "2004" F-150s had this standard. The muting of the radio with RSS.
Mine has this feature. I really like it.

The muting wire/function was discontinued around 05 Job 2.

VERY VERY interesting. So the OP isn't having any issues with the RSS, just his camera and lights...seems like a connected issue to me, either a bad power ro ground wire.
