HID projector head light housings

Hello,
I'd like to add HID's to my wifes 04 lariat screw 4x4. But I want to do it right with hid projector housings. I have used hid "kits" on a few other vehicles and the kits are OK but there is a lot of glare and it is rude to oncoming drivers. I don't want to have to cut up my factory headlights and try adding in something from lexus or acura. I want something I can bolt in and go. Does anyone know of where I can find this? If so who has them and what do you think of them?
Thanks,
Darrell

well a lot of people go with the projectors lights you can get from ebay and some stores n stuff but i hear they're not that great(haven't tried them myself) the light output is supposedly not too great and they still have some glare....the best bet is doing a HID retrofit by placing a projector in your stock headlights there are some forums I've been on before and alot of people on those forums have done this to there vehicles and it worked out great even better than a lot of stock hid lights on vehicles

Watson91,
Thanks for the links. Those headlights are projectors but they are made for halogens not HID. They are not designed to focus a hid.

most people that do a retro fit on the hid forums projectors like acura and porsche and they know where to get them for a pretty descent price and they turned out amazing from the pictures ive seen...just seems like a lot of work to me i wouldnt have a clue how to do it...but i do think there is a company that you can send your headlights to and they will retrofit the projector for you and send you the lights back but im not sure the companies name or anything

No, I don't think so. If they did, the 150 crowd would have jumped all over them years ago, just like we did with the LT handles.

They were big when they first came out but I remember a few people complaining about them leaking.

Hmm, if only you could retrofit Navi (03-06) headlights in an F150. The later years came with an HID option, even though it was still a reflector. Not sure if the reflector was any different from the halogen one.

Either way, I'm sure they'd point you in the right direction if you head over to HIDplanet forum (I think that's the "main" HID forum everyone goes to) as to who can do the retrofit for you.
