Spindle Nut?? Where to buy??

Anybody have the part# or where I can purchase the front wheel spindlenut for my 04 F150 screw? I think somebody on here said they got it cheap from TASCA but didn't see it on their site!

Also I am doing wheel bearings and they said on my 04 they are still the old style and can be bought seperately instead of the one-piece with rotors everybody is talking about??? I think they switched to the one piece units with the 05's, anybody got any insight on this? Cause my truck is roaring like I have huge mudd grips or something on it, autozone shows an inner and outer bearing from this truck plus the seal, i think 13.99 and 11.99 for bearings! Thanks!!

The 04 heritage has the old style, the 04 NBS has the bearing in the rotor. If you have that big spindle nut that is supposed to be replaced, then you have the NBS. The local parts stores carry the spindle nut around here, and of course, the dealer. I reused mine without any problems.

One other thing, if you haven't removed the nut yet, it takes a humongous deep socket. I think it was 26mm. I had to borrow one.

Yeah, bet you're correct. When I typed that, the 26 did not sound big enough. I never can get all the metric stuff right. I know it was just larger than a 1 1/16 but smaller than 1 1/4.

Not sure what brand you got, but I bought Raybestos. I have about 50,000 on them now and no problems. I agree with you. Pretty ridiculous that you have to replace the rotor for a bearing. Also, no way to lube the bearings.

So you're in Tyler? I may be over to Brownsboro tomorrow. Supposed to retire there some day, on the wife's old family farm. We grew up in Longview.

Bluejay-yep, live here in tyler and used to work in longview!! How much did you pay for those Raybestos Rotors? Yea, its sad that Ford screws us like this, unbeleivable! I could have sworn I would just have to have bought bearings and go, heck the autozone site even shows the bearings and races for an 04' Ford 150??? What gives?

I paid $150 each about 2-3 years ago. Michael says he recently paid $180. You have to realize, there are two 2004 F150s. The Heritage as they call it which is nothing but a 2003 titled as a 2004, till they got the new body style out. They should show that in their parts manuals and a decent parts guy should know that. You can buy bearings for the Heritage, but the NBS will require rotors. That's progress and improvement, right?

If you bought the brakebest rotors from Oreilly's they have a 1yr warranty. Take them back if the wheel bearings are bad and exchange them. If you have the money take them back and get the wagner rotors they are a better quality but cost quite a bit more. Also Oreilly can order the front spindle nuts if you need them.

One thing I didnt see or I over looked is do you have a 2wd or 4wd?

All of the parts stores actually show that they can get the bearing alone but they can not. I went through this about 2 months ago and found out that TIMKEN has not released to sell seperately. This was from TIMKEN themselves. They could also not give me a time on when it will actually be available to the parts stores. They have part numbers for it and everything. Just can't buy it.
