cylinder misfire code

have a misfire on cylinder 3, swapped coils and reset codes but it still throwing a code on #3. Plugs are relatively new, about 5,000 miles on them. So it sounds like a stuck injector. I don't smell a lot of fuel so I'm guessing its closed?

I'm on a tiny island with nothing here, ferry access only! Should I also disconnect the coil as well just to be safe if it is in fact stuck closed? Does the 07m08 recall cover the 04's? I read that its only covering the 05's.

only thing it could be outside of a stuck injector is a bad ground right? I will try to swap injectors later to see what happens to the code.

07M08 only covers 05 5.4's, and a very few 06 5.4's.

No 2006 model year vehicles are covered by 07M08. It applies to 2005 model year trucks only. Some early '06s have the same bum injectors that the '05s do, but the number is so small that they aren't included in the program.

Quintin - I used autolite HT1, I just pulled, cleaned and swapped the plugs in 1 and 3. Runs better but this mis is still there under acceleration. Idles a lot smoother but hasn't thrown a code yet....

Motorcraft OEM replacements fixed it the misfire, I swear it has more power than it did before I had the trouble. Accelerates smooth as silk and idles nice and quiet thanks to the new cam phasers. Drove it for almost 200 miles today after the plug change and no codes. The autolites were 19 months old with only 8,000 miles. Not too impressed with those numbers!

+1 for motorcraft oem
-1 for autolite HT1
