Well this weekend I plan to begin my search for a 04-08 Crew cab 4X4 F150. I have a friend who is a servise writer at the local ford dealer so I am not too worried about the simple stuff. But what would be some important things to check when looking for a Truck. Also are there any years that I should avoid? Thanks

 

It depends, are you going to leave it stock? Also 04's and up I belive til early 07 have a problem replacing the plugs, ford says you can replace them at 100,000 which is fine, the problem is whenb tis time to replace the dealer wants an arm and both legs to replace. If you do it yourself you have to be very cautious as to not brake them in the process. There is an extraction tool for it, if you have the time, knowledge and patience than you can do them yourself.

 

Stay away from 05 5.4's, known for injector failure
