Have any of you done something creative with the cubby hole (or whatever you want to call it) that is under the lighter? It's space that could def be used for something, but I can't figure out what to do with it. Any ideas?

I have an STX and have that too. I will be watching this thread closely. I have been trying to figure out what to do with that. I don’t know why that is there but I just throw things I think about putting in there in the floor since that is where it’s going to end up anyway.

Here's what I did with mine... I replaced the plastic slot with an Alpine SBS-05DC Center Channel Speaker. If you look closely you can see it in the top image...

This is what it looks like up close without the cover...

I also installed the Alpine MRA-F350 5-Channel Digital Amp for true surround sound. It's the lower amp in the top image...

Close up of the amp...
This is probably more than you want to do but it's what I did with my useless whole...

i always wanted to mount a screen down there but i have a stick shift and it would get really annoying. i do have some piezo sirens mounted down there for my alarm. if your old school you could mount either an eq or a cb radio down there. i have mounted fold away sat radios and cb's down there at work too for people with automatic trans.

My XLT has that big useless cubby hole as well, I have no idea what to do with it. My brother's XLT has a pop cup holder deal there. I had thought about trying to get something like his, but I have enough cupholders..

It's useless for me. When I bought the truck I was happy that I had a place to keep my Copenhagen out of the sun, but any amount of gas other than idle and they slide right out!!! If I had the money for a mac-daddy stereo like shown above, I'd do the center channel speaker option.
