If you had to do it all over again Jack would you stick with the 4.30s? And yes under 2k is the sweet spot for these trucks... As long as you stay under you'll get great milage

I know personally, i wish 4.30's were out when I did my 4.11's.

I don't drive on the highway much anymore though. The Tahoe is used on most of the highway trips now days.

Yeah I love it, it's an older 03 model with the 5.3, but when we bought it earlier this year it only had 21,000 miles on it I have a bunch of mods to put on it, just to lazy to install any of them. Only managed to install the SLP intake and PIAA lower valance with fog lamps, and new Sylvia HID headlight setup so far. I have a tuned PCM, gears, electric fans just sitting I need to install.

I have thought about this long and hard and I just have to figure what I want to do with my truck, race, street or daily driver. If I want to race it regularly I would probably go with 3.73 or 4.10's(only because the biggest drag radial iss around 28"s) street would be 4.30's or 4.56's and daily driver I probably should of left the 3.55's in there for the freeway commute.

The 4.30's are great but with the weight of this truck it almost needs 4.56's to make it feel the way I want, but I think they may be to much once I get some drag radials and I am hoping that the 4.30's will still keep me under 6k.

That's partly right.

If you have a 4WD with the 9.75 and the reverse cut 8.8, then 4.30's are not an option for your, but there are 4.30's for the regular 8.8 and 9.75.

I bought my Yukon's at www.accuautoparts.com and have a good experience with them.

You could try them out.

M&H makes a 390/40/17 DR that is 29.5" tall. Needs a 12" wide wheel to mount it on. Probably won't make much difference when choosing new gears, just wanted to let you know they are out there.

I couldn't find the 4.30 for 9.75 on Ford's site or Summit for 2004-xx. I'm glad they're out there, I'd rather go 4.30 than 4.10 too.
Thanks for links.

The front of all 04-up 4x4 150's have an 8.8" axle with reverse cut gears, regardless of engine size. Only the back has the 9.75" axle (if you have the 5.4)
