Stock programming is known for being dangerously sluggish. Mine use to refuse to get into gear when I was suddenly forced to punch it while going anywhere from 20-35 MPH. Damn near got me splattered on a few occasions.

I'd probably start with checking for codes. Address whatever problem the codes may indicate, and go from there.

Also at 70K, I'd get someone who knows what they're doing to replace the plugs. How's the air filter look? What about the fuel filter, have you replaced it lately?

Just pulled codes P0171 and P0174. TSB states PCM reflash. Might call ford up and figure this out

I had a P0171 code on my edge, so I pulled the edge out and took it to the dealer and told them the symptoms. The tech hook up a laptop and we went for a drive. He asked me to make the stumble occur, I did and he showed me the ignition on CYL 1 drop to zero exactly as the stumble happened. They changed the COP and the plug...been great ever since.

The AZ scanners won't pick up the code, you need the dealer's scanner.

If the CEL doesn't come on, then there will be no codes. You're going to have to catch it in the act.
