private party on KBB is right at 23k
suggested retail value is $26k
trade in is $19k

i was thinking at asking $23.5k and just seeing what kind of offers i got. hoping to spend no more than 20k on the new truck so i can put some money into saving.

what do yall think?

I hate to play Devil's Advocate but...

You'll never get over KBB just because you spent a lot of money upgrading it to your liking. Now you not only have to find a buyer who has your identical tastes, but someone who can blindly trust a stranger to have installed a detailed suspension lift properly.

By all means- good luck on the sale, but I wouldn't expect to get a dime over trade-in value for it.

well i know that, but why start low? that just means they think they can haggle down even farther and then just puts you in a position on getting ripped off. its not like the thing has to be gone tomorrow or anything i can sit on it which is no big deal

$23.5K? Good luck with that. Modifications generally decrease the value of a vehicle.

If you get it, great. I don't think you will.

I'd just throw it on craigslist and, like you said, wait it out and see what happens. Good luck with everything bro.

Like I said, good luck with it. I agree to start out well above what you want to get- just making sure you have a realistic view of what you're up against.

My '05 booked out at 18.5k and I got it for $15k, completely stock and meticulously maintained by the dealer.

I would start at 19,999, and hope to get 17,000. Good luck with the sale.

Why dont you just take off some of the mods, maybe sell the truck for $20,000 buy a new one that you want then sell off the lift, maybe wheels and tires if you still have the stocks, and use that money for your savings. Or you can just throw that lift into your new truck..

I agree with the other posts. Mods decrease the value of a vehicle unless you find a private buyer with similar interests.

You said you were thinking about just leveling your next one and blacking it out. I was going to say take the mods off and put them on the new truck. You can at least take them off and sell the ones that won't go on the new one. Keep the stuff like your system, cai, tune, etc.

If I were to sell my truck right now that's how I'd do it.
