Question How to Disable Horn Chirp???

I've searched all over and can not find it. Does anyone know how to disable the horn chirp that accompanies the lock and unlock of the truck? I can't find it in the owners manual.

Thanks

If you only hit the lock button once it doesn't make a sound. Just flashes the hazard lights once to show it worked.

At least that is how it is with mine.

Thanks, but not on mine, hit unlock one time, unlocks drivers door with a beep/chirp, press it a second time the other doors unlock. When I lock it, chirps on the first press of the lock button.

Hate to have to go to the dealer for this.

That sounds like an aftermarket alarm, not the stock one. What does your fob look like? Does it look like this?

It does, just like that. The truck does have one of those Karr alarms that the dealers put in still installed, nothing in the book (Karr guide that is) about disabling the horn chirps.

Maybe it can't be done, I don't know.

Thanks for any advice.

SOLVED! I managed to find a .pdf of the manual for the KARR 4040 alarm on the web. For whatever reason, it wasn't included with my 08. I knew I had turned the chirps off when I had my 04.

The process is simple:

1. Turn ignitition key on, and then off.

2. Within 10 sec of turning ignition key off, press and release the valet button 3 times.

If chirps were on, you'll hear 2 chirps indicating the chirps have been turned off.

If chiprs were off, you'll hear 1 chirp indicating the chirps have been turned on.
