exhaust match up question

OK I got this guy from craigslist that has 2 magnaflow mufflers, si/so. they have a about 6" of pipe left over off the outlet. He also has the tips for it.

My question is, Would I have to get a y-pipe for my stock exhaust to mount up to it?, or can i just go straight out of the headers?

I am getting these for 100.00 so I dont want to put much more into it as i might as well buy new.

You would have to split the exhaust somewhere, or cut the stock Y out. If you're not supercharged/turbocharged, I would go the former and split the exhaust 18 inches in front of the two mufflers, then run tailpipes back from the mufflers back.

Doing a DI/DO on an N/A motor will cause you to lose torque.

im not too knowledgeable when it comes to exhausts.

Yep. That'll do it. But check prices for bent aluminized pipe installed. It may actually cost less that the y pipe to split the single pipe to the 2 mufflers as those two sections would require about 8 bends total. Most of the way from the header pipes to the mufflers would be straight anyway.

Good luck!
