When i turn my truck on it makes a blowout noise like a shotgun or a crank...someone told me it was a solenoid problem but i dont know, any suggestions?

 

I've seen posts without much to go on but that one takes the prize! Is this a Model A P.U. or a 2009? And I'm trying to figure how the sound of a shotgun and a crank have anything in common. You'd probably get a lot more help if you filled in the vehicle info on your profile and tried to more accurately describe the noise and exactly how it does it.
