F-150 stiff sterring and hard returns after turns

Does anyone have any idea what would my steering to be stiff for about 15 degrees of a turn and then get smooth for the next 15 degrees, and then stiff again. It also will try to stay in the turn and you have to force it back to straight. Please advise if you have seen this before and what causes it.

Back in the eighties and nineties the GM front drivers with rack and pinion steering would do that and the rack itself was going bad. First thing I would check would be your steering rack.

I have sprayed it twice now and it feels brand new. I have not checked on replacing it yet but the top one seems easy to get at. Thanks again
