Question strange sound when selecting air flow

I dont now exactly the technical name is for switch but i call it the air flow selector. anyway when i change the air flow from the floor to the dash and floor to off ( manual turn **** in a fx4 - if that helps), i hear a squeak in the dash. i am not sure if they have a door selector or if it is a diaphram type set up. how do i stop it? any help or ideas would be great.

+1 I just laugh every time I hear mine. To stop it I just leave it on MAX.

Mine makes this sound when the selector is about to break.

It happened a few times, then a few days later the air was stuck on the head/feet setting. Brought it to Ford and they fixed it, only to hear the sound again about a year later.... and guess what happened? It broke again the other day.

O well, I'm not paying to fix it if its going to keep breaking. As long as there's heat or cold air coming out, I'm OK.

It's the blend door opening/closing. Mine does it too. It would be really easy to get under there and lube it with some lithium grease but I'm really lazy.
