AUX port HELP

I need some help please. I have an 04 Screw FX4 and i just bought a Blackberry tour and wish to play music in my truck off of it but i think my only option is to buy and fm transmitter and i didnt like that for my ipod bc you always have to find a station and as you drive change it ect where if i can get an aux port to plug in i will not have to. i guess i could buy a new cd player but i like the look of the one the OEM. My friend says that its posable to hook the cord in the back of the head unit any truth to this?

Thanks for any help

Yeah, just buy a PIE adapter and you can feed the audio from your phone or ipod or generic mp3 player directly into the HU. Your HU does have the aux button on it correct?

This is what your looking for its a PIE adapter, then just buy the right aux cord for the red and yellow outputs and you should be good to go.

2007. But the AUX plug was on top of the dash, where the rubber insert tray is.

There is an AUX button on some factory HU for satelite radio for years 2004-2006. The plug in on the dash showed up in 2007 or 2008? The PIE adapter will plug into the back of the HU if your truck has the AUX button on the front.

The only external port there is was on the 2007-2008 and it was in the rubber tray on the dash not on the HU.

Exactly! Some earlier HU (and even the ones with the port on the rubber tray) had an AUX button on the front but you had to have a wiring harness and some sort of adapter to plug in the back to use it. I was for Sirius radio but you can get adapters for about anything.

Ford doesn't offer that option

they give you a remote jack in the dash holder and wire it to the radio using their version of a Pie Adapter.

Same way with the cars and the SUV line. Ford uses the same radio's in all their models from 2004-2008

as mentioned, in 2007 they offered the trucks with Pie Adapter built in. so maybe visit a junkyard and grab that wiring bundle. Then you could mount it OEM style and nobody would be the wiser
