I say take the 6000 your going to spend on the conversion and use that plus the trade of your truck on a used 4x4. There are plenty of them out there in the 04 to 08 style and many more in the 97 to 03/04 Heratage style. I done some looking at used ones in my area at local Ford lots and carmax.

I'll be honest, I thought about doing this with mine, after a little bit of research and looking around and asking around at local truck places. I was told if I got it done there, including parts and labor I'd be looking at almost 10,000 dollars..

10-4 thats definitely a good price too.

only way your are gonna do it for under 6k you will be fabbing the stuff yourself.

for a setup like mine, your looking at 6-10k if you let the shop do everything.

Just not worth it to do the conversion way better off to sell what you got and buy a 4x4.

I agree with everyone else here...to much involved on that new of a truck...and these guys know there stuff. Meaning there advice is the right advice...go the trade in route combined with your 6G's...definitely a nice truck waiting for you at that price...

ALSO, with the extra money you'll probably save from buying a nice used 4x4, you can lift and also do a gear install..and btw, I'd recommend going a 4:56 route with 35's...just better all around..and if you do decide to upgrade you can run 37's with those gears..
