I've been researching for 3 days now to avoid posting, but I have no choice.... I have a 2004.5 FX4 with what I thought had all the bells and whistles. I have the power adjusting pedals, power rear sliding glass, and even leather. But my side mirrors DO NOT have signals on them, just power adjust. I purchased this truck used so I do not know the full history of it. Im getting the feeling that the mirrors might have been switched out OR was the signals in the side mirrors not even an option for the first run of F-150's?

My plan is to install the power folding mirrors but my concern is finding a tap for the signals on both sides. I would be adding four features that my truck currently does not have...

1. Puddle lamp
2. Power Fold
3. Heat
4. Signals

Puddle lamp and heat would seem to just need a 12volt source and the power fold would be taken care of by the module, I'm guessing....

But I would assume the signals would need to be tapped to a source and not just grounded....

Everyone's writeup of installing the power folding mirrors seem that their rigs already have the signals in their mirrors to start off with. Am I the only one without em???

The signal mirrors were an option in the 04, I had them. Does not mean your vehicle had them originally, as the Fx4 did not have them as part of the package. They needed to be ordered extra.

 

Is there a writeup on installing mirrors with signals on a vehicle that dident orginally have them? Ive seen the writeup on the power folding mirrors, but does not go into detail regarding the signal light hookup....
