Bumper Help

hey guys, has anyone taken off their front and rear bumper? I am going to try to get my fathers off so that I can take them to a shop to be powder coated. How hard is it? Any tuff steps involved? Tools?

thanks for any help with this.

I can only speak for the rear. On my truck (without tow package) it was 2 13/16ths nuts on each side. With the tow package, its three on each side.

It was incredibly easy

Nothing special, just a set of metric tools and it helps to have a impact driver but not really all that necessary. Not sure about the rear, but really just crawl under the truck it's all right there. If you can change a tire you can pull the bumpers.

i would recommend an extra set of hands, especially if you have the tow package that holds up the rear bumper

for the front disassemble everything first , take off the valence , fog lights etc..

its pretty easy as mentioned, hardest part is lining up the front bumper wen your done

thanks for the help, me and a buddy got them off this morning. only problem i ran into was needing a star style socket for the ratchet to get the tow hitch off the bumper...took us about an hour and a half front and back.

I just used an allen wrench since I didn't have the right torx bit.
