Thule Canoe Rack

I'm looking for a way to haul a canoe on my Screw without using my receiver (which holds a bike rack) or interfering with my tonneau cover. I won't be using it all that often so I don't want to spend a lot of money and don't want something permanent. Yes, I am being a bit picky, which is probably why searches aren't helping me much.

Does anybody has experience with these Thule mounts? http://www.orsracksdirect.com/thule-...oof-racks.html

I'm mainly wondering how easy they are to take on and off and if they can be spaced out enough on the cab to support a 17'4" canoe.

I have also thought about something in the stake pockets but most bed racks mount to the inside of the bed rails, and I realized I don't have proper stake pockets anyway.

I do have foam blocks as well but am not sure how I would secure it side-to-side, except perhaps just running the straps through the cab and closing the door on them. I don't want to damage the weatherstripping or rub through paint though.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Phil
